A very early B&SR document detailing the estimates for the construction of the rail line from Hiram to Bridgton. Please note that this document does not include the price of the buildings, rolling stock or locomotives. For those curious on how much it cost to just lay the track between Hiram and Bridgton and the respective yards in 1882, the cost comes to $143,757.26 or approximately $8,121.88 per mile. Adjusted for inflation these figures sit at $4,419,098.17 and $249,666.59 respectively.
B&SR Plow train before 1906, note the lack of knuckle couplers on the locomotive.
